What a weekend, the water was flat and the weather was hot so to was the riding. Sproat Lake was host to the third stop of the Island Wakeboard Tour. Fifty of the island's best riders showed up to compete and enjoy the hospitality of Sproat Lake Water Sports Assoc. Sponsors were out in full force with the Port Alberni CO-OP leading the way by supplying the gas for the Mastercraft X-Star. Tournamentboats.com, Gravity Unlimited, Parker Marine, Alternative Groove, Ch Television, CWB Wakeboards, Oneill, Osiris, Ocean & Earth, Legend Eyewear, Xcel Wetsuits, O.N.E. Girl, Volcom, Toes on the Nose, Orb, Rietveld, Arson, Hyperlite, Bruzer and www.coastalbc.com supplied all the prizes to make this event possible. A special thanks also has to go out to Richard Butler for all his help this weekend. The highlight of the weekend was the first ever slider comp held on Vancouver Island. Grant Wright from Qualicum Beach stunned the crowed by landing 540 spin off the 5ft ski ramp to win the event.
