Tricks of the Trade - Part One - The Hatchet". This short film features Sitka Surf Team rider, Noah Cohen, and introduces his new pro model board, The Hatchet.
The Hatchet is a model developed with mainly smaller and flatter waves in mind. Ridden a couple inches shorter and about half an inch wider than a standard shotrboard, it creates speed through flat sections but still allows you to lay it on rail when you are on steeper and more powerful wave faces.
The board was shaped by Jay Novak and the video was filmed in Southern California.
Part 2 is with Peter Devries new pro model called "The Pocket Knife" to be released next week

Just got back from a great weekend surfing in Tofino. Clear skies and great waves on Friday and Saturday. Following our afternoon session on Friday we went down to the beach and took some photos of the locals enjoying a few last turns as the sun was setting.
Thought I would send you some shots to represent the Haida Gwaii again.
Got another hollow wood surfboard comming out of the shop this weekend, a 6' 2" x 23" x 3" Retro Fish, Twin Fin, single to double concave bottom contour. Made with local Red and Yellow Cedar and salvaged California Redwood.
Been testing other designs with a few test riders up here in the Haida Gwaii. Chinook Surfboards will certainly have some boards at the 'expression session' for people to ride.
