NEW INTERNATIONAL JUDGING COURSE NOW AVAILABLE
CANADIAN SURFERS AND INTERESTED SPECTATORS PLEASE NOTE:
Ever wonder how competitive surfers are judged during a competition? Want to become a Judge?
Canada as a surfing nation holds the licensure to offer the International Surfing Association's (ISA) Judging and Officiating Program. This comprehensive judging program has been identified as the worlds best practice in the development of quality accredited officials.
A recognized judging standard for all Canadian competitions is being demanded by event participants, event sponsors and is a very important transition for Canada to make to ensure the development of surfing in Canada.
The ISA Judging qualifications are recognized by your Provincial and National Surfing Associations and internationally recognized throughout all surfing organizations world wide.
A 2008 upgrade to the Judging program has been made by the ISA's Head Judging office and is now available.
All courses offered in Canada will be the newly updated level 2 course known as the International Judging Course.
The level 1 course is now obsolete, those judges who currently are accredited level 1 Judges have the opportunity to increase their level of knowledge with the newly updated level 2 international Judging course. The level 1 accreditation offered Judges the opportunity to judge local, club and shop challenge events only, the new international judging course offers new Judges the opportunity to judge local, club and shop challenge events as well as regional, provincial/state and international world class events.
** Please note all pre-registered participants for the April 26 Halifax Judging Course will be taking the International Judging Course NOT the level 1 which was previously advertised. Apologies for the confusion. The level 1 is no longer available. Please contact the course Facilitator (see below) for the price adjustment and to confirm your registration.
