The 2006 British Columbia Surfing Assocation Junior Team tryouts were held in near perfect contest conditions at South Chesterman Beach, Tofino Saturday March 25th. Sunshine, light winds and shoulder high sets set the stage for this years tryout, the first video format contest held by the BCSA. Three videographers Peter Thicke, Taylor Patterson and head videographer Aaron Jackson shot the tryout in it's entirety. Judging will take place early this week once all the rides have been edited onto one DVD.

The 2006 Junior Team was selected last night by a panel of 7 judges including Ollie Atkey, Chad Babcock, Guto Cunha, Peter Devries, Aaron Jackson, JP Froment and Peter Thicke. This was our first video format contest and everyone involved is truly stoked. The 15 min long DVD included all the waves ridden during the 3 one hour heats and the rides that followed during the 1 hr "expression session".

A huge thanks goes out to the three videographers that made it happen, Aaron Jackson, head videographer and editing wizzard, Taylor Patterson and Peter Thicke. Many thanks as well to the businesses and individuals that loaned us gear and volunteered time on the beach during the tryout.
