Just returned from westport and the BCSA team
did very well. BCSA had 4 jr's in the final with Noah Cohen winning it and
Kye Peladeau in 2nd.
We had 4 in the final 8 in the the men's pro/am with
Sepp and Pete meeting man on man in the final... Pete won it with his last
wave where he went mental - on a head high peak he launched a frontside
ollie-oop to frontside air reverse combo, would've scored 9's at any ASP
event - with an unbelievable and unprecedented equal 17th at the 4* Body
Glove at Trestles and a convincing win at Westport, this kid is for real!
He is off to Costa Rica today to shoot a video with the Hurley team, then
will be competing on the US east coast and the Canary Islands in September
to help boost his world ranking for his assault on the 2006 ASP WQS.
The girls pushed the bar high as well with Tamarah Stevens grabbing a 2nd and
Leah Oke in 3rd, both girls impressed and would've taken out a lot of the
guys in the pro/am.
Guto won the longboard and the Redpaths, Mike and
Anthony, took home a handful of trophies in the Masters Lonboard, Open
Longboard and Masters shortboard.
I'll send pics, complete team list and
placings as well as a more detailed account of what went down at Westport
hopefully tomorrow... Need sleep, the team wore me out.
Next thing is to start work on an Am contest to qualify the Jr's.
Later
