National Championship returns to Montreal, $20K cash purse, format changes

DC announces some exciting changes for the 2008 DC National Skateboarding Championships. DC is proud to reveal a
$20K cash purse, new website, new dates and new qualifying format. In its 6th year, anticipation for the amateur event is
growing, with the first contest set to kick off the summer on June 28th.
The new qualifying format has opened the Regional Qualifiers to all skateboarders for a chance to win a spot at the
National Championship and will see the Local Qualifiers removed. All competitors must qualify at a Regional level in
order to compete at the Nationals. The finals return to South Parc, Montreal QC.
The website will offer on-going event updates, registration forms, contest dates and contest locations in a new clean

DC Nationals is Canada’s only nationwide skateboarding contest. It also boasts the largest contest cash purse for
Canadian amateur skateboarders at $20K.

Since 2003, DC has given back to its roots of skateboarding by hosting the DC National Skateboard Championship. The
mission of the contest is to promote and involve Canadian youth in skateboarding. The DC Nationals is a Non-Profit,
Canada-Wide skateboard contest and the only event of its kind that gives Canadian amateur skaters a chance to
showcase their talent on a national level.
