For the first skate trip of the year we jammed 5 into my truck (Adam Hopkins, Dylan Davies, Lisa, Tyler and myself) as it was a quest for vert which took us to none other than Anthony Hancocks vert ramp in Lund BC. To my knowledge it's the last remaining vert ramp in Canada but this one should stick around as the location it sits does not have too many rules and neighbors. The biggest challenge was taking 2 ferries and almost 6 hours of travel from the Lower Mainland which we did in a single day. Overnighting with a tent or a hotel room down the road would be more practical and not so tiresome.
Once there, the vert junkies will love the perfect 11ft. ramp and the amount of flat is not too much which is great for old legs like mine. The rest of the crew had a blast as Adam and Tyler was getting some big airs working the transition, Dylan clicking away with his big camera and Anthony killing it as usual. The resort like property consist of many action packed activities such as dirt bikes to ride and ATV's. He's also constructing a pool for skateboarding and a bigger bike track. And what I like about most is that I can blast off into Desolation Sound with my Seadoos as it's around the corner.
Although it's a private ramp, I'm sure all are welcome as long as you don't complain about a little noise and with that said, he's hosting a vert jam next month... send him email at mctwistsfinally@hotmail.com and tell him you saw it here.
